Tyson profit rises with meat prices

Tyson Foods Inc., the world’s biggest meat producer, said it earned $32 million in its fiscal fourth quarter as poultry and beef prices rose.
Net income was 9 cents a share after a loss of $56 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier, Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson said. Excluding a one-time tax expense, Tyson earned 14 cents, topping the 10-cent average estimate of analysts in a Bloomberg survey. Sales rose 6.4% to $6.88 billion.
Tyson shares fell 42 cents, or 2.9%, to $14.33.
