Parental coaching a worthy idea

Share

Re “Need help, parents? Get a coach,” Sept. 23

As reported, Britney Spears has been ordered to work with a coach for observation and, presumably, to help her become a better mother. Not mentioned is that this coaching may help her two young sons grow up with a better chance of having normal, healthy lives. It may seem a stretch, but if more troubled families got help like this, could that eventually make a difference with some of society’s problems? After all, even the most loathsome criminal was once an 8-year-old and probably had a home life that was far from desirable. Parental coaching could be considerably cheaper than spending billions to fix overcrowded prisons.
