Chemical fire kills 5 trapped workers
From Times Wire Reports
A chemical fire ignited at a hydroelectric plant outside Georgetown, and five workers who were trapped in an empty water tunnel were found dead, authorities said.
Crews went in from the bottom of the tunnel to put out the fire and found the workers’ bodies, Clear Creek County Undersheriff Stu Nay said.
The workers initially had communicated that they weren’t injured, officials said.
