New Mormon official appointed
From Times Wire Reports
Gordon B. Hinckley, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, named a new top church official at the 177th gathering of faithful Mormons in Salt Lake City.
Elder Henry B. Eyring was appointed the second counselor in the organization’s First Presidency. Eyring replaces James E. Faust, who died Aug. 10.
