Youth site seeks to leave Disney

Industrious Kid Inc., owner of the Imbee children’s social networking website, said it was in talks to sever ties with lead investor Steamboat Ventures, part of Walt Disney Co.
The company wants to split from Disney because of a conflict over strategy, said Tim Donovan, a spokesman for Oakland-based Industrious Kid.
Burbank-based Disney, the second-largest U.S. media company, is investing in websites geared toward children.
