Unwelcome ‘guest’

Re “Revolt of the ‘guest,’ ” Opinion, Oct. 13

I am pleased to know that someone besides me is annoyed at being referred to as a “guest” when I am a paying customer. I agree with Karen Stabiner that guests do not pay when they go somewhere. I mention this at my bank, where I am called a “guest,” and the poor teller has no idea what I am talking about.

Who gets paid a lot of money to come up with such ridiculous ideas? Changing “personnel departments” to “human resources” is another stupid renaming. What am I? To reduce humans to the term “resource” dehumanizes.
