Retrial ordered in Omagh bombing
From Times Wire Reports
A judge ordered a retrial for the only person convicted in the 1998 bombing in Omagh, the deadliest terrorist strike in Northern Ireland history. Colm Murphy’s 2002 conviction was overturned on appeal in 2005.
Lawyers for Murphy, 54, argued in May that their client was suffering from memory loss and thus could not testify about what he told police after the Omagh attack killed 29 people.
