Ex-minister guilty in corruption case

The Supreme Court convicted former Economy Minister Jorge Baca Campodonico for misappropriating state funds during the administration of President Alberto Fujimori, now jailed. Officials said he was given a three-year suspended sentence and a fine for diverting $59.4 million to bail out a private bank.
