U.S. to subsidize Alzheimer’s plan

UnitedHealth Group Inc. said it would offer the first government-subsidized plan to care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and chronic dementia.
Nurse-managers will customize plans for policyholders in the Phoenix area starting Jan. 1 as a first step toward offering the Alzheimer’s program nationwide, the company said. The policies will be funded by Medicare.
