Liking Cartwright’s cottage

Share

Wow! Was I thrilled to see the terrific spread on Nancy Cartwright’s “country farmhouse” in Northridge [“Country Charm? Ay Caramba!” Sept. 13]. Her style is right up my alley. We even shop at the same “design studios,” except I prefer the flea market at Pasadena City College over the one at the Rose Bowl -- it’s a little more compact!

Loved her quirky cowboy boot chandelier and the wonderful color choices she used throughout. Thanks for this feature. It was a nice change from the minimalist homes I’ve noticed lately in the Home section. I just can’t imagine living in a home without Grandma’s hand-painted plates hanging on the walls, or soft, floral pillows on every chair and sofa. Most of us “cottage” folks are a bit cluttered, but we sure have fun with all of our treasures! Ms. Cartwright’s home was proof of that.
