2 arrested in Mumbai with crude bombs
Indian police said they had arrested two people with six crude bombs near a train station in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, where 187 people were killed last year in bombings on the commuter rail network.
Police said the bombs were low-intensity, home-made devices unlike those used in 2006.
On a tip, police detained a man identified as Rajeev Singh at a bus stop near a train station, said Mumbai’s deputy police chief, Rakesh Maria.
Police said they found six crude bombs in a bag he was carrying. Singh was arrested, along with another man. Maria declined to provide any details on their possible motives or links to known militant groups.
