Suspect in tourist deaths escapes

A man accused of killing four French tourists escaped from a Mauritanian courthouse after an interrogation session, tricking guards who believed he was in a restroom, a court official and a witness said.
One guard was later arrested, along with a court employee and two of the fugitive’s sisters, the official said.
Sidi Ould Sidna was arrested in January in connection with the Dec. 24 killings of the tourists, who were gunned down beside a highway.
