The Nashville Predators are hoping their 5-3 victory Monday night over the Detroit Red Wings at Nashville shifted the momentum in their first-round playoff series.

When Jason Arnott scored with 3 minutes 58 seconds left in the final period, it was the second Nashville goal in nine seconds, and the Predators rallied for the win to cut their series deficit to two games to one.

“There’s moments that are going to happen in a series that can change the whole series,” Nashville Coach Barry Trotz said. “I don’t know, we might have just had ours.”

Nashville’s Ryan Suter tied the score only nine seconds before Arnott’s goal, putting a slap shot from the left side past Detroit goalie Dominik Hasek, who had dominated the Predators for most of the game.

Nashville’s Martin Erat scored an empty-netter with 41 seconds left. For the Red Wings, the somber locker room appeared as if Detroit had just been eliminated.

“Guys are down. Guys are hurting,” Detroit center Kris Draper said. “At the same time, when we wake up, we’re still up 2-1.”

Minnesota 3, Colorado 2 (OT) -- The Wild’s Pierre-Marc Bouchard took a pass from behind the net and sent it past Jose Theodore 11:58 into overtime for the victory at Denver.

Pittsburgh 4, Ottawa 1 -- Sidney Crosby scored the tiebreaking goal 12 seconds into the third period, stunning the host Senators’ crowd with his first goal of the playoffs after getting free on a two-on-one break and snapping a shot that beat Senators goalie Martin Gerber on the stick side.
