Rwandan militias clash with troops
From Times Wire Reports
Troops clashed with Rwandan Hutu militias, culminating a week of violence that forced more than 12,000 people from their homes and caused the United Nations to suspend relief operations.
The militias have been loosely tied to Congo’s army, so the clashes appeared to mark a turnaround in government policy. Neighboring Rwanda has been calling for Congo to confront the militias.
