Montreal’s mayor promised a swift inquiry into the fatal police shooting of a Honduran teenager after the incident prompted violent clashes between angry youths and authorities in a heavily Haitian neighborhood.

Several hundred officers in riot gear fanned out in the area. Six people were arrested.

On Saturday, police shot three unarmed people, including an 18-year-old identified as Freddy Alberto Villanueva, an immigrant from Honduras, who died of his wounds.
