2 officers cleared in fatal shooting
The district attorney’s office Wednesday cleared two police officers in the April 2007 fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man who allegedly was driving the getaway car after an armed robbery at an adult bookstore.
Dist. Atty. Bonnie Dumanis said Officers Scott Spillane and Adam Sharki were within their rights to open fire at Maurice Antoine White when he fired two shots from a .38-caliber revolver at Spillane. White’s alleged accomplice, Tiano Durham, pleaded guilty to the robbery and was sentenced in April to six years in prison.
