DGA names TV nominees

“The Sopranos” and “30 Rock” both received double citations Thursday as the Directors Guild of America announced nominations for its annual television awards.

Nominated in the dramatic series category were Jack Bender for “Lost,” David Chase for the final episode of “The Sopranos,” Eric Laneuville for “Lost,” Alan Taylor for the pilot of “Mad Men” and Tim Van Patten for “The Sopranos.”

Comedy series nominees were Michael Engler for “30 Rock,” David Grossman for “Desperate Housewives,” Beth McCarthy-Miller for “30 Rock,” David Nutter for “Entourage” and Barry Sonnenfeld for the pilot of “Pushing Daisies.”

In the category for TV movies and miniseries, the nominees were Jon Avnet for “The Starter Wife,” Jeremiah Chechik for “The Bronx Is Burning,” Lloyd Kramer for “Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom’s ‘For One More Day,’ ” Mikael Salomon for “The Company” and Yves Simoneau for “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.”

The awards will be presented Jan. 26.
