Ticketmaster buys TicketsNow

Ticketmaster, the largest seller of sports and concert tickets in the U.S., agreed to buy online reseller TicketsNow for $265 million to compete with StubHub, a unit of EBay Inc.
The sale should be completed by the end of the first quarter, said a statement issued by West Hollywood-based Ticketmaster, a unit of Barry Diller’s IAC/InterActiveCorp.
The purchase of the reseller of sports and concert tickets comes a month after Ticketmaster announced an agreement with the National Football League to resell tickets over the Internet.
EBay bought StubHub last year for $310 million.
