Microsoft Corp. didn’t violate an Alcatel-Lucent patent when producing its Xbox 360 video-game player, a jury said, rejecting a bid by Alcatel-Lucent for $419 million in damages.

The third of five trials scheduled between the two companies over alleged patent infringement was held in U.S. District Court in San Diego.

Alcatel-Lucent claimed that the Xbox console and DVD player infringed a 1993 patent for coding video frames.
