Share

A Chinese national living in Connecticut pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to attempting to smuggle military hardware to China that could be used in making weapons.

Qing Li, 40, could face five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced Sept. 26. The device, called an accelerometer, could increase the impact of bombs and missiles. Li allegedly conspired with a Chinese national identified only as Wang. None of the hardware left the country.
