Take heed of this wise tree

“The Giving Tree”

Shel Silverstein

This book is about a tree that loves a little boy. The tree gives to the little boy and never takes anything from him.

The tree gives him all her apples and she is happy. The tree gives him all her leaves and branches and she is happy. Even when the boy cuts her down so she only has a trunk, she is still happy. Then when the boy is an old man she lets him sit on her trunk.

The boy only takes and doesn’t give. I do relate to the boy a little bit. I am picky at home and ask for a lot of things. But I usually give after I take! I relate to the tree a bit more than the boy. I use just about all of my money to pay for the things my dog eats. I sell a lot of my stuff to give my mom money. “The Giving Tree” is my favorite story. I recommend it to everyone.

“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”

Jules Verne

If you go 20,000 leagues under the sea, there’s bound to be trouble! This is a great book. My favorite part is when the characters walk on the ocean floor. The author describes all the plants and animals so well. The basic story is about a man on a boat. Something bumps into it. Three men (including him) are thrown off it. They scramble onto the thing that capsized their boat. Then . . . they face many dangers and adventures. But you will have to read the book to find out what they are.
