The Justice Department said that alleged former Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk had exhausted all legal avenues for trying to remain in the United States and the government remained committed to deporting him.

The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the case of Demjanjuk, 88, who lives near Cleveland. His son, John Demjanjuk Jr., said the family had no comment.
