Re “Floored by code dispute,” Oct. 18

I don’t know anything about La Quinta. But, considering the violent crimes occurring everywhere, all the time, it’s amazing that the city and its law enforcement contingent could spare the three inspectors and two police officers who barged into the Camargo home to prove that they were right about tearing down something that was put together more than 30 years ago -- before the present owner moved in. I didn’t quite understand what the safety hazard is. It would seem that garages offer more safety worries than bedrooms.
