5 suspected rebels slain in Dagestan

Security forces killed five suspected Muslim rebels in the southern Russian region of Dagestan, news reports said.
Bomb attacks and shootouts hit Dagestan and adjoining Ingushetia almost daily. The latest shootout took place in a house in Khasavyurt, west of the capital, Makhachkala.
