Rolling Green rolls into L.A.

Share

The Culver City nursery Rolling Greens opened a Los Angeles outpost this week that’s less plant emporium and more lifestyle destination, stocked with packaged foods, dinnerware, cut flowers and a bed and bath boutique. As owner Greg Salmeri says, it’s “a little greener, a little hipper and less high-end” than the original nursery. The popular ceramic pots and make-your-own plant arrangement bar are there. So are the orchids and begonias, real and fake. (Salmeri says the artificial orchids are among the nursery’s biggest sellers.) The new Beverly Boulevard store took over what had been Town Tire Co. It’s gorgeous inside: sandblasted brick walls, rustic repurposed windows and a surplus of natural light -- a fine setting for Algabar tea, McEvoy Ranch olive oils, Bauer Pottery and cookbooks. 7505 Beverly Blvd. (at Gardener Street); (323) 934-4500; .
