WORLD BRIEFING / ITALY
Times Wire Reports
An Italian student accused of sexual violence and murder in the slaying of a British student told a court that he was innocent and the victim of a terrible judicial mistake.
“It all seems unreal, I’ve got nothing to do with it,” Raffaele Sollecito told the court in Perugia.
Sollecito is on trial along with Amanda Knox, a U.S. student who is his former girlfriend. Both have denied wrongdoing in Meredith Kercher’s 2007 slaying.
