Regarding the story “Regulators ‘failed miserably’ in Madoff case, lawmakers charge,” Jan. 6:

I agree that to help restore investor confidence, it is important to investigate those who ignored the report from the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Boston office that Bernard L. Madoff’s investment strategy was a hoax. We investors need to know the breadth and depth of the corruption as quickly as possible.
