Regarding the story, “Price is not right for many at Circuit City closeout sale,” Jan. 20:

I went to the Circuit City store in Pasadena on Sunday. Always liked the people there, so helpful. They were just as helpful as usual, despite the fact they are all going to be on the street soon in a lousy economy.

As was reported in your paper, the “consumers” there seemed only interested in what they could scrape off the bones of CC, and berated salespeople if disappointed.

To dump on people who are not setting prices and losing their jobs is very selfish. I am disgusted, but hardly surprised, for the average “consumer” seems to be only that. They can only consume, they cannot build or look at someone else’s misfortune except as an opportunity to get a deal.
