Among the Julius Shulman anecdotes sent to the Home section after the photographer’s death Wednesday: this photo, taken in September 2007 in West Hollywood. Client Peter Schifando had John Skalicky document the master at work. “I asked Julius what his favorite part of the shoot was, and he said, ‘looking at the Polaroid of the beautiful work I have done,’ ” Skalicky said. “As a photographer, I can really relate to that, as shoots can be stressful, but the pleasure is looking at your results.”
