Biased buying

Re “The year of ‘buying black,’ ” March 10

If this harebrained idea isn’t the most racist attempt at resegregation, then it’s a top contender. Blacks should only shop in black-owned stores? What if whites proclaimed a shopping moratorium on all nonwhite stores? And what about Asians? Should they only shop at Asian-owned stores?

It’s outrageous that anyone should ever have to ask the race of a store owner. The whole idea disgusts me, as it should Americans of every race. John Anderson says, “Supporting your own isn’t necessarily exclusive.”

Come on, John, are you really so naive?
