MY FAVORITE WEEKEND: Khloe Kardashian : Food, her beloved and . . . bowling?

Share

Keeping up with the Kardashians has never been easier, or more popular. The clan’s E! channel series just released its second season on DVD, while Season 4 begins Dec. 13. And more than 3.2-million pairs of eyes were glued to their sets over the weekend for the two-hour special featuring kid sister Khloe Kardashian’s glitzy wedding to L.A. Lakers star Lamar Odom.

Let’s let Khloe fill us in on what the newlyweds are up to as L.A.’s reigning royal couple.

Downtown digs

While we’re looking for a house, we’re staying downtown because Lamar has a condo there, and it’s close to Staples Center. I had never explored downtown before, and they’ve made it so cool and beautiful. After his games, we’re really into this restaurant called Bottega Louie. It has a cafeteria vibe but more upscale, and the food is delicious. Also, it’s open late, so it’s a great postgame place. It’s not real fancy, but the food is fancy. A lot of celebrities go there late too. It’s very open, so you can see inside the glassed-in kitchen. Lamar always gets the sea bass or salmon.

We can eat with a little privacy there because we know the maitre d’ and he takes good care of us, but anywhere we go, because my husband is so tall, it’s hard to be inconspicuous. He’s 6-10, he’s a Laker, we’re downtown -- honey, it’s a little crazy.

A home-court edge

We’re also looking forward to the club Hyde opening up at Staples Center. I got to see it before it opens, and it’s so to-die-for. It’s going to be such a cool scene, but it won’t be open only club hours -- it’ll open before any main event at Staples and after the event too. It’s a nice loungey type of place for people to hang out.

There’s also a Lucky Strike bowling alley downtown. I’m not a good bowler, but I still love it. They serve a lot of finger food there, like French fries and chicken fingers, really fattening stuff. But when you go bowling you go to pig out, anyway, and it’s so yummy.

In the O.C.

My sister Kim and I still own the Dash boutiques in Calabasas and Miami, but we also like to venture out to other shops to see what our competition is up to. When I go, I have a new obsession with Orange County.

For our honeymoon, Lamar and I stayed at the Montage Hotel [in Laguna Beach]. I had never been there, but now it’s probably my favorite hotel. It’s on the water and it’s just stunning. We ended up walking all around, and right nearby are a bunch of these cute little boutiques. They even had this great candy shop there -- a wall-to-wall sweets factory almost. And you know how Lamar loves candy.

Working up a sweat

Both Lamar and I are really into boxing, and we have a trainer who comes by for a boxing workout. It’s really good cardio. I like to do it outside, and we have a rooftop pool area at our condo that’s perfect.

But my sister and I also like running up at Runyon Canyon a lot. It really clears the brain.

Big on Boa

If we’re having a special dinner, I love Boa on Sunset and Doheny. Lamar and I go there almost once a week because the atmosphere is fantastic and half the restaurant is outdoors. But it’s so well-designed with the fire pits and everything, you’re always cozy and warm.

We were there for three hours one night, just talking underneath the stars.
