Re: “Bump in road for ‘Cadillac’ benefits,” Sept. 8:

Your article states that retiring TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. Chief Executive John Plant will be covered for the rest of his life under a plan worth enough to “provide him the same level of care he would have received under the National Health System in his native England.”

It is worth noting that in the U.S., the “Cadillac” or “gold-plated” healthcare plans are reserved for the families of our few top executives and wealthiest citizens. In England, that’s the level of healthcare that everybody enjoys. Everybody.

Polls nationally have demonstrated America’s desire for a single-payer system for all. Why has President Obama taken “Medicare for all” off the table again?
