Glee for April’s return

Of course we’re talking about: Kristin Chenoweth’s return to “Glee.”

Not since “Ugly Betty’s” Claire Meade has TV been blessed with such a lovable drunk. When last we saw Chenoweth’s former glee clubber April Rhodes, she had gotten sloshed and booted from the McKinley High group. Now she’s back — whew! — and she’ll be belting out a couple of classics, including “One Less Bell to Answer.” Aaaah, show-tune shivers.... (Tuesday)

We want to talk about: “A Nightmare on Elm Street” with Jackie Earle Haley.

Why? Because the actor says the reboot of Freddy Krueger is far more serious than recent jokier incarnations have been. Less laughs, more scares? Sign us up. (But also, thank goodness this is one film not coming out in 3-D.) (Friday)

Curious enough to talk about: “Nobody’s Daughter?

It’s the new Hole album sans Hole. More than a decade after “Celebrity Skin,” Courtney Love mounts a return under the banner of her old band even though she is the only original member still around. Worth a listen if for no other reason than to see what Love is railing against now. (Tuesday)

It could be worth talking about: “Happy Town.

Say the ads: “From the network that brought you ‘Twin Peaks’ ... In Happy Town, every smile hides a secret. ...There has been murder. The past has come back to haunt this quiet town.” Tall order, ABC. We shall see. (Wednesday)

Not sure if “Sex and the City” fans want to talk about: “The Carrie Diaries.

It’s the Young Adult Novel Edition! Candace Bushnell writes about the early small-town roots of Carrie Bradshaw. Before becoming a renowned sex columnist, Carrie had to navigate her senior year of high school. One big problem: No Samantha, Charlotte or Miranda. (Tuesday)

Will you talk about: “Furry Vengeance?

Brendan Fraser plays a real-estate developer who is building on top of a nature reserve — and the animals are out to take him down. Could be a sleeper hit — animals causing havoc! — or a big flop. Either way, it’s got to collect fast; “Iron Man 2” comes out the following week. (Friday)
