Update: Tina Thompson, who leads the Sparks in scoring (14.9) and rebounding (5.9), is on bereavement leave and will miss Wednesday’s game because a close friend died. The nine-time All-Star, who is 26 points away from breaking Lisa Leslie’s career scoring record, should be back for Friday’s game against the Tulsa Shock. The last-place Sky has lost three in a row and is three games out of the last playoff spot in the East. The Sparks are 14 games behind first-place Seattle in the West but only half a game behind the Minnesota Lynx for the last playoff spot.
