Overseas on Obama

Joel Pett is the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky. His cartoons also appear in USA Today.

To hear the journalism chatterati tell it, although President Obama’s poll numbers may be flagging stateside, he remains enormously popular around the world. Somebody better tell the foreign cartoonists. Singapore’s Heng Kim Song mocks our main man as mere marketing mania. Austria’s Petar Pismestrovic puts an insecurity curse on our blankety-blank president. And fellow countryman Oliver Schopf rips into Obama’s iconic image. Insincere, vulnerable and utterly hopeless. They’ve become as cynical as we are. Who says America doesn’t export anything anymore?
