Meet Nancy Olson Livingston

Auspicious start

Nancy Olson Livingston was still a student at UCLA when Billy Wilder cast her as Betty Shaefer, the ambitious assistant to a Paramount Pictures producer in 1950’s “Sunset Blvd.” She received a supporting actress nomination for her performance.

The flubber bounce

During the 1960s, Livingston appeared in several films for Walt Disney, including the 1961 blockbuster “The Absent-Minded Professor,” in which she played the fiancée of the title character ( Fred MacMurray). They reunited for the 1963 sequel “Son of Flubber.”

The arts

For more than four decades, Livingston has been involved with the Music Center’s Blue Ribbon, which promotes and supports educational, cultural and community programs, rising to executive president of the organization.
