Wouldn’t you love to blame your bad food choices on a credit card?

Credit-card purchasers are more impulsive with their spending and more likely to buy unhealthy food than those who pay with cash, the Hartford Courant notes in “Does paying with credit make us fat?”

One more thing to worry about when you’re trying keep your weight under control. It also doesn’t help that a few years back scientists found that the same mechanism that fueled drug abuse also fueled compulsive eating. The Los Angeles Times reports on the 2008 brain study that deemed overeating and substance abuse to be “two sides of the same coin.” Or credit card?

One wonders what treatment an overeating shopaholic should seek out first.
