Game on — some of the best athletes from the world’s most rambunctious sports showdowns will descend upon Las Vegas this spring.

Kicking things off, the annual USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament takes over Sam Boyd Stadium from March 3 to 5. A highly anticipated weekend that is expected to draw more than 80,000 spectators, the event marks the first time in three years that the women’s competition will be held alongside the men’s in Las Vegas.

“We welcome the combined event for 2017 and look forward to working collaboratively with USA Rugby to continue to grow the sport in the United States,” said Jon Prusmack, CEO of United World Sports, the event’s organizer. “The HSBC Sevens Series weekend in Las Vegas has become the showplace for the sport in the United States, and the addition of the women’s event will take the interest to another level.”

Estimated to add more than $30 million to the local economy, the competition brings three days of nonstop play as well as the 2016 Olympic women’s teams from Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The event will be the fifth global stop in the HSBC Sevens Series for the men’s teams.

An annual tradition, the Monster Jam World Finals returns to Sam Boyd from March 23 through 25 this year. The wildly popular event features drivers competing for the racing and freestyle championship.

Then the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross FIM World Championship revs into the same venue on May 6. The 17-race competition looks to pack the perfect punch of action and adrenaline, in addition to showcasing the skills of reigning Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey and Pro Motocross Champion Ken Roczen.

USA Wrestling is holding one of its most important events at the South Point in 2017, its Open Wrestling Championships, from April 25 to 29. Headlining the event is the U.S. Senior Open in men’s freestyle, the national championships for that Olympic discipline. In addition, the U.S. World Team Trials in women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman will be held, which determines which athletes will represent the United States at the 2017 World Championships in France.

More of a college sports fan? There’s the Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament, which takes place at the Thomas & Mack Center from March 8 through 11. The winner of the tournament will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
