Evan Metropoulos’s unfinished penthouse is a tougher sell than expected.
Last spring, the businessman listed the double-unit condo atop West Hollywood’s Sierra Towers for $58 million before trimming the price to $48.8 million last summer. It’s now back on the market for $38 million, records show.
Metropoulos is the son of billionaire investor C. Dean Metropoulos and brother of Playboy Mansion owner Daren Metropoulos. He bought the two units separately and combined them, creating an expansive – but raw – space above the city.
The residence boasts 7,000 square feet of interiors and 4,000 square feet of terraces that wrap around the residence. Walls of glass serve up views in almost every room, taking in scenes from downtown to the ocean.
The Sierra Towers building on Doheny Road was built in 1965. In 31 stories, it offers a host of luxury condos, a gym, outdoor pool, concierge service and 24-hour security.
Matt Altman and Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman hold the listing with Mauricio Umansky of the Agency.
In 2017, Metropoulos paid $65 million for the former Westside home of comedian Danny Thomas months after his brother Daren paid $100 million for the Playboy Mansion.
