Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler is ready to move his basses out of Beverly Hills
Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler and his wife, Gloria, are strumming a seller’s tune on the Westside. The couple, who reside primarily in their native England, have put their home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area up for sale at $3.225 million.
The modern Mediterranean, built in 1957 and since renovated, is entered through a gated courtyard with a fountain.
Inside, the 3,710 square feet of living space features a classic yet contemporary look with oak floors, a staircase wrapped in patterned wrought iron and two fireplaces.
The floor plan includes a two-story foyer and an expansive living room that opens to an eat-in kitchen. A formal dining room also sits off the foyer and has French doors that open to the courtyard. There’s also a lofted bonus/office space.
The master suite boasts a sitting room, skylights and his and hers closets for a total of five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. A deck/balcony off the master bedroom overlooks the grounds.
Outdoors, a saltwater swimming pool, an al fresco dining area and citrus trees fill the more than half-acre setting. Wildflowers and other flora fill the hillside backing the property.
The couple bought the house in 2004 for about $2.4 million, property records show.

Butler, 66, is a founding member of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Regarded as one of the most influential bassists of all time, he was inducted into the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2006.
He is currently on the last leg of Black Sabbath’s final tour, aptly named “The End.”
