Reggie Bush is ready to put the Motor City in the rearview mirror.

The NFL tailback, who landed with the San Francisco 49ers this offseason after being released by the Detroit Lions in February, on Thursday listed his home in Birmingham, Mich., for sale at $2.495 million.

Built in 1998, the Prairie Modern-style home is distinguished by a slightly-pitched roofline, clerestory windows and walls of floor-to-ceiling glass. Polished interiors by designer Jeffery King feature open-area living and dining rooms with a wall fireplace, a center-island kitchen, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in some 8,000 square feet of space.

A wood-and-glass staircase leads down to a lower-level entertainment area with a wet bar, a media room and a game room. Off of the main level, a terrace overlooks a recessed swimming pool.

Bush, who spent two seasons with the Lions after signing a four-year deal with the team in 2013, bought the home that year, records show. The furnishings are included in the price.

Eddie Mallad of Re/Max Team 2000 is the listing agent.

Bush, a former standout at USC, has 5,465 yards rushing in nine seasons with the Saints, Dolphins and Lions. In May, he agreed to a one-year contract with the 49ers worth as much as $2.5 million.

Last year, Bush sold a three-story Contemporary home in Hollywood Hills West for $5.7 million. He maintains other property in the L.A. area.
