Last fall, Los Angeles Times correspondent Benjamin Crutcher wondered what it was like to train to be a firefighter. So, he went to see Steve Marotta, a captain in the Los Angeles Fire Department, to get a crash course in firefighting training. What Ben found was not something he was physically prepared for.
