In the height of the pandemic of 2020, L.A. Times photojournalist Francine Orr was invited inside Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills to document the intensity and sorrow experienced by those suffering from COVID.
She built a trust and bond so significant a doctor and chaplain allowed her to shadow them as they comforted the ill, their families and the medical staff risking their own health, trying to keep patients alive.
