Niles was originally home to members of the Potawatomi tribe, who settled in the area in the 1700’s, according to the village. German pioneers followed, and the town was incorporated in 1899. It has since grown to almost 30,000 residents. Take a look at some of the shots captured by Chicago Tribune photographers over the years.
