Hollywood Headlines: a crazy week in review

R.I.P. Justin Tennison
Sad news from up north this week. “Deadliest Catch” deckhand Justin Tennison of the F/V Time Bandit was found dead in his Alaska hotel room. Rough news for the Discovery show that lost Capt. Phil Harris a little more than a year ago. The network issued a statement expressing “our sympathies to his entire family and fellow crew members during this most difficult time.” Meanwhile, a message went up on the Time Bandit website stating, “Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year.” (Discovery Channel)
Banksy’s covert Oscar campaign
Did graffiti artist Banksy launch a last-minute Oscar campaign in L.A. for his documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop”? Who knows? No one’s actually talked to the guy. However, it’s pretty clear the British street artist is in town this week after several pieces of street art popped up around the city and on his website. (Gabriel Bouys / AFP / Getty Images)
Justin Bieber sports a new ‘do
Justin Bieber’s hair is making headlines again and this time it’s for real. Not like that time he pretended to shave his head. Biebs decided to go in for a trim, telling TMZ, “it was like in my eyes, and I just wanted it kind of out of my face.” (Robyn Beck / AFP / Getty Images)
Rolling out the red carpet for Oscar
It takes a lot to pull off the biggest award show of the year and the crews at Hollywood and Highland are working hard to make it happen. Rolling out the red carpet, cooking up the Wolfgang Puck cuisine and putting the finishing touches on larger-than-life Oscar statues are just part of the prep for Hollywood’s big night.

Meanwhile, the nominees and their A-list friends are celebrating the season all over town, from the Vanity Fair Oscar parties to the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon. (Gabriel Bouys / AFP / Getty Images)
Alyssa Milano’s baby on board
Just weeks after her “Hall Pass” costar Christina Applegate gave birth to her first baby, Sadie Grace, Alyssa Milano announced she’s expecting a little one of her own. Of course, Milano took to Twitter to tell the world the good news and we expect a flurry of baby tweets to follow. In fact, the actress, who holds three accounts, is already asking for recommendations on “good pregnancy/parenting twitter accounts.” (Frederick M. Brown / Getty Images)
Lindsay Lohan’s plea
Lindsay Lohan could be headed back to the big house. -- something her judge Keith Schwartz, who’s overseeing her grand theft charges for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace, can make a reality. He told the troubled starlet, “If you plead in front of me -- if this case resolves in front of me -- you are going to jail. Period.” Now, Lohan must decide if she wants to fight the charges or take a plea. (Alex Gallardo / Associated Press)
Mickey Rooney’s family dispute
Mickey Rooney has had it with his stepson. The veteran actor alleged in court papers this week that Christopher Aber and his wife, Christina, have been physically and emotionally abusing him for several years by depriving him of food and medications, prohibiting him from leaving his house and taking control over his finances. For now, the accused couple must stay away from Rooney until an evidentiary hearing in April. (Mark Boster / Los Angeles Times)
Ted Williams’ new reality
Ted Williams’ overnight success kinda seemed like a reality show waiting to happen. Apparently it was. The man with the golden voice, plucked from the streets and turned into a talk show circuit star, will get to tell his story on his new show “Second Chances at Life.” (Richard Drew / Associated Press)
