The second seasons of “Girls” and”Enlightened”will roll out on HBO in January.

For “Girls” fans, that might be a long wait for someone longing for more glimpses of Adam Sackler’s chest, sure. And it’s an even longer wait for fans of “Enlightened,” whose first season finale aired in December.

The two comedies are paired for a beginning-of-the-year roll-out to fill the hole left by the horse-racing drama”Luck,” which would have likely aired its second season during that period had it not been abrubtly canceled following a series of animal deaths.

“Girls,” which offers a window into the travails of young women in New York, premiered in March to modest ratings; Its finale drew 1 million viewers. It earned several major Emmy nominations last month. “Enlightened,” which stars Laura Dern as a woman trying to rebuild her life, had a more limited viewership but also earned award show attention, picking up Golden Globe nominations.
