‘Unbreakable’ Lamar Odom is smelling good on Clippers bench

Share

After a disastrous season with the Dallas Mavericks, former Lakers star Lamar Odom is back in town with a new team: the Los Angeles Clippers. That’s not all that’s new: Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian, the stars of E!’s reality show “Khloe & Lamar,” just announced their new holiday fragrance “Unbreakable Joy.”

The timing of the announcement is a bit off, since there’s not much joy for Odom so far with the Clippers. He may have “Unbreakable Joy,” but he’s not exactly breaking a sweat on the basketball court.

Odom rode the bench during the Clippers’ showdown with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.

Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said Odom came into the team’s training camp with “weight and conditioning issues,” and thought putting him on the court would further mess up his problematic knees.

But just because Odom isn’t playing doesn’t mean he isn’t focused on his other job -- shilling for the Kardashians. Khloe Kardashian, who just got hired as a co-host for Fox’s “The X Factor,” is still pulling her husband into the business of selling Kardashian.

“Our goal was to create a scent that embodies that wonderful feeling of pure love, happiness and joy that this time of year is all about,” Kardashian announced on her website. “We poured our hearts into the creation of this fragrance and we’re so happy with how it turned out -- we hope you are, too.”

Whether Odom pouring his heart into the creation of the fragrance has led to his current athletic difficulties remains unclear. After his disastrous season with the Mavericks, Odom and his wife said they were putting their E! reality show on hold while Odom dedicated himself to getting back in shape for the Clippers.

But being away from the cameras has not resulted in a timely reversal of his basketball fortunes. Maybe “Khloe & Lamar” will return sooner than expected.
