“Power” just got more power.

Starz’s gritty drama about a New York club owner who is balancing his glamorous life with his involvement in the criminal underworld has been renewed for a third season. The order came just after this weekend’s premiere of the second season, where the drama scored record-setting ratings for the cable network.

“Power” attracted 1.43 million viewers in its Saturday premiere, the highest-rating for the premiere of an original series on Starz.

The drama stars Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren and Naturi Naughton. Executive producers include creator Courtney Kemp Agboh and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who also has a role on the series.
