She most recently covered public health and previously reported on Los Angeles city government and politics, as well as on the census and demographics, tracking how our lives are changing in Los Angeles, California and the country. Before joining The Times, she worked for the pioneering nonprofit news website voiceofsandiego.org, winning national awards for her reporting on education. She has also traveled to Bolivia as a fellow with the International Reporting Project and survived the University of Chicago.
