Drink Bug Juice and get a closer look at the creepy-crawlies in your backyard

How about a big pint of Bug Juice to slake your thirst?

Experts from the Natural History Museum are hosting a night out on April 21 at Angel City Brewery to teach you all about Los Angeles’ urban insects.

From backyards to Los Angeles City Hall and the U.S. Bank Tower, traps were set all over the area as part of the BioSCAN research initiative to document and explore the biodiversity in and around one of the world’s largest cities. Curators Emily Hartop and Kelsey Bailey will talk about what they found in a trap atop the brewery’s roof, and entomologist Liza Gonzalez will showcase specimens from the museum’s collection.

What will you sip while browsing a close-up gallery of insect photos? Perhaps the one-night-only Bug Juice, a strawberry wheat wine made with five local honeys and the brewery’s rooftop hops.

The event is free for those 21 and over and runs from 4-9 p.m., but you’ll have to pay for the beverages. Bug talk begins at 6 p.m. Angel City Brewery, 216 S. Alameda St., Los Angeles.
